My oldest child is only in Kindergarten, but already loves to use the computer. My goal is to stay smarter than he is when it comes to computer issues, so that I will not be in the dark, and I will be more capable of monitoring the computer usage in our household, especially as the kids get older. My biggest rule is that the computer will always be in a common room. Right now we have one computer and it is in the kitchen. I don't ever intend to allow any of my children to have a computer (or a TV for that matter) in their private bedrooms or any secluded room in the house. I know it will become a battle as time goes by, but I think this is one of the biggest preventative measures I can take.
