» kristinem - Hot Pink Smokes?? What next?

I am VERY disturbed about the idea of "targeting" female smokers with "trendy" packaging. Who will buy these? Mostly girls raging from 13-25. They are the ones who mostly see this as cool or "in". As a mother of an 11 year old girl (and a 4 year old and nearly 2 year old boy/girl twins) it scares me to think that no matter what we as parents say, that tobacco companies CONTINUE to make our job harder.

I sometimes wonder how some of these marketers can sleep at night! I know they say they are not targeting kids, but that's in the same breath that they tell you they don't target nonsmokers, either! When I am at the convenience store, I am going to be keeping my eye on who is buying these smokes. Thanks for your comments, Kristine!
